What Is a Furry?
A furry is someone who has an interest in animal characters that have human-like qualities (Anthropomorphic), such as talking, walking on two legs, wearing clothes, or showing human emotions. People in the furry community often enjoy creating or viewing artwork, stories, or characters based on these animals. Some furries dress up in costumes called fursuits that represent their characters, while others simply enjoy the art and community. Being a furry is generally a hobby and a way for people to express their creativity and connect with others who share similar interests.
Do I need a Fursuit?
Nope! Fursuits are not required to be part of the furry community! Being a furry is about enjoying animal characters with human-like qualities, expressing creativity, and connecting with others who share similar interests. Some furries choose to wear fursuits, while others enjoy the community through art, stories, or online interactions. There is no right or wrong way to be a furry, and owning a fursuit is completely optional!
What is a Therian?
A therian is someone who feels a deep personal connection to or identifies, on an internal level, as a non-human animal. This connection may be spiritual, psychological, or personal, and it is often connected to a specific animal, known as their theriotype. Some therians express their connection through activities like quadrobics (moving on all fours), wearing animal masks or tails, or spending time learning about their animal. However, these activities are not required to be a therian, and everyone experiences their identity differently.
Is being furry a kink or Fetish?
Being a furry is not inherently a kink or fetish. While there are sexual aspects within parts of the furry fandom, they are not the main focus of the community. Most furries participate because they enjoy anthropomorphic animal characters, art, costumes, creativity, and connecting with others who share similar interests. Like many fandoms, the furry community includes people with different interests, but being a furry does not automatically mean someone has a sexual interest in it.
Who can join the community
The furry community is open to people of all ages! However, online platforms such as Telegram and Discord have minimum age requirements that members must follow. All ages are welcome at our all-ages events, but we ask that a parent or guardian accompany anyone aged 15 or younger to help ensure the safety and well-being of younger attendees. We strive to create a welcoming, respectful, and safe environment for everyone in the community.
